First I must say that my wife and I are senior citizens and any kid would surpass our electronics ability. So this watch is not being used for running but rather walking at a good pace. After downloading the Nike+ software and entering our statistics (weight, etc.) We hooked up the watch via a USB connection and let it fully charge while it set the time and got the watch ready for the first walk. We took it outside and had a little coordination problem and didn’t quite understand that it must find the GPS signal before you start the run or walk. After a slight amount of frustration we figured that out. Confession—-we did not fully read the instructions. Well, it finally got the signal and we were off! Walked a couple of miles came home and plugged into the USB port. Wow! It brought up google maps and showed our exact route on the streets, how fast we were walking at any point on our route, how many calories were burned etc.—-amazing! Now we are pros at getting this ready, the first time is always the beginning of the learning curve—-the second walk, setup was a snap. It keeps a record of your runs or walks and shows if you have made improvement and just where you did your exercise. If you are a competitive runner (we are not) this would be really fantastic! It amazes me how a small device like this can provide so much information and fun. Just using the Nike watch encourages us to get out and walk! Great product (even for the old folks).
